MERSETA Chair in Engineering Development
Technical High School teachers are confronted with new technologies and curricula and need to stay abreast with these developments. This may lead to poor pass rates, de-motivation of the learners and frustrated teachers. This Chair will strive to develop and present development courses/programmes to teaching staff at Technical High Schools.
The objective of this project is to increase capacity of educators at four Technical High Schools in the Eastern Cape Province. The schools are Newton Technical High School, Kwezi Lomso Comprehensive School, Daniel Pienaar Technical High School and Gelvandale High. School educators will be trained and indirectly learners will benefit from this project. The focus will be across the Grade 9, 10, 11 &12 pool of learners.
